The band KLa Project celebrated 37 years of their musical journey with a concert titled "LUX NOVA" at Balai Sarbini in Jakarta on Saturday night, February 7. The event featured over 20 songs, including rarely performed ones, to offer a special experience for attendees. Vocalist Katon Bagaskara expressed gratitude for the fans' continued support.
The "LUX NOVA" concert was held to commemorate 37 years of KLa Project's career in the Indonesian music industry. The title symbolizes a new light and the band's next creative phase.
KLa Project opened the performance with the song "Tinggal Sehari", followed by "Datanglah Pesona" and "Menjemput Impian". The packed audience at Balai Sarbini clapped and sang along, enhanced by dynamic stage lighting. The concert was designed to foster closer interaction between the musicians and fans.
Vocalist Katon Bagaskara expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate this milestone. "We are thankful to gather and celebrate 37 years. It's not about the number, but how we enjoy the journey. Hopefully, we can continue to 38, 39 years, and beyond," he said during the pre-concert tumpeng-cutting ceremony.
He hoped the event would run smoothly and leave a lasting impression. "KLa's happiness is when our songs bring joy to listeners. That energy returns to us," Katon stated. He also appreciated the attending fans, noting that they usually hold shows every five years, but three consecutive years was unexpected. "Thank you for still loving us," he added.
Reza Pamungkas, the show director, explained that the "LUX NOVA" concept differed from previous concerts. "Every work and step always produces something new in the performance concept. There are many KLa songs rarely heard in concerts, and we present them here," he said. The repertoire included seldom-performed songs specifically for the special audience, totaling over 20 tracks to enhance the viewing experience.
Katon emphasized that musicians aim not only to entertain but also to inspire through their works and performances.
