Koji Fukada says AI undermines creative process at Cannes

Japanese director Koji Fukada warned at the Cannes Film Festival that AI-generated art risks undermining human creativity.

Speaking at the event, Fukada, known for his film Nagi Notes, cautioned that reliance on artificial intelligence could reduce opportunities for personal expression and discovery in the arts.

The comments came during the 2026 edition of the prestigious French festival, where filmmakers gather to discuss industry trends and challenges.
