Korn guitarist says band has written 40 songs for new album

Guitarist James 'Munky' Shaffer shared details on the band's ongoing work toward a follow-up to their 2022 album Requiem. The group has also addressed the status of former bassist Fieldy, who left in 2021.

Korn guitarist James 'Munky' Shaffer told Rolling Stone Brasil that the band has written nearly 40 songs since releasing Requiem in February 2022. He described the process as lengthy and meticulous, noting the group is highly critical of its output while aiming to preserve its signature sound. The sessions began after their previous record and continue to evolve through repeated rewrites and revisions.
