La Savoyarde stage of Marathon Ski Tour set for February 1

The Marathon Ski Tour arrives at La Féclaz in Savoie for its third event, La Savoyarde, on Sunday, February 1, 2026. The highlight is a 42km skate race expected to benefit from recent snowfall. Local favorite Camille Coupé leads the women's standings after winning the first two stages.

The national long-distance cross-country skiing circuit, known as the Marathon Ski Tour, reaches its third stop at La Savoyarde in La Féclaz, Savoie, following events in Haute-Maurienne and the Vercors. Scheduled for February 1, 2026, the competition features a scenic 42km free technique race in the Bauges region, with organizers anticipating favorable conditions due to snowfall at the end of the previous week. The course will be finalized mid-week, and registration remains open until Friday evening.

Camille Coupé from La Féclaz, representing Savoie Nordique and the i3 Ski Team, enters as the women's overall leader after victories in the Marathon de Bessans and Foulée Blanche. She is the clear favorite for the women's 42km skate, which starts at 9:30 a.m. alongside the women's 21km. In the men's category, Gérard Agnellet from La Clusaz and the Haute-Savoie Nordic Team holds the overall lead, having performed strongly in the initial races, though he has not yet confirmed participation, prioritizing La Transjurassienne.

Teams such as the i3 Ski Team, Haute-Savoie Nordic Team, Team Vercors Isère, and Team Vercors Expérience will vie for podium spots, drawing participants from the Chambéry area, Savoie, and nearby departments. Last year's 2025 edition saw Julien Arnaud of Montgenèvre and the i3 Ski Team win the men's race in 1 hour, 38 minutes, and 21 seconds, while Maëlle Veyre from the same team claimed the women's title. The full podiums were: women - Maëlle Veyre first, Céline Chopard-Lallier second, Julie Marciniak third; men - Julien Arnaud first, Hugo Dejour second, Gérard Agnellet third.
