Leaker claims Halo 2 and 3 remakes in active development

A gaming leaker has claimed that remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3 are definitely happening and currently in active development at Halo Studios. The information comes from two additional sources, according to Rebs Gaming. Details suggest the projects remain in early stages.

Gaming leaker Rebs Gaming stated over the weekend that two new sources have confirmed Halo Studios is actively developing full remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3. One source even provided proof to back the claims. This builds on earlier reports from late 2025, which first suggested the remakes were planned to follow Halo: Campaign Evolved—a project remastering the original Halo's campaign with updates, which has elicited mixed fan reactions.

Rebs Gaming emphasized that the Halo 2 and 3 remakes are still in early development and appear to be part of a broader Halo trilogy remake effort that includes the original game via Campaign Evolved. An unreleased video clip from Campaign Evolved was shared for verification, though the leaker cautioned about the projects' nascent status.

Additional leaks hint at gameplay elements like Brutes appearing in prequel missions for Campaign Evolved, with designs inspired by Halo Reach concept art, including weapons such as the Brute plasma rifle and Spiker. Players may also summon Brutes in original missions using a new skull modifier. Note that some Brute details originate from an unverified report.

Beyond the remakes, Halo Studios is reportedly developing a new multiplayer project (confirmed via job listings and developer LinkedIn activity) as well as the next mainline Halo title. These updates come amid Xbox leadership shifts, including the appointment of new CEO Asha Sharma and the departure of longtime Halo executive Kiki Wolfkill after 28 years—she previously led Halo 4 as executive producer at 343 Industries.
