Malcolm in the middle revival sets April premiere on Hulu

The revival of the classic sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, titled Life's Still Unfair, will premiere on Hulu on April 10 with all four episodes available at once. Original stars including Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek, and Bryan Cranston reprise their roles, joined by new cast members. A teaser trailer showcases the family reunion.

The four-part revival brings back the dysfunctional Wilkerson family from the original Fox series, which ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2006. Titled "Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair," it premieres Friday, April 10, on Hulu, with all episodes dropping simultaneously.

Frankie Muniz returns as Malcolm, alongside Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Bryan Cranston as Hal, Christopher Masterson as Francis, and Justin Berfield as Reese. The teaser trailer highlights these familiar faces reuniting, emphasizing the theme that life remains unfair for the family.

Erik Per Sullivan, who originated the role of Dewey, does not reprise it. Instead, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark takes over as Dewey. Anthony Timpano plays Malcolm's brother Jamie, while Vaughan Murrae portrays the youngest sibling Kelly. Kiana Madeira appears as Malcolm's girlfriend Tristan, and Keeley Karsten as his daughter Leah.

The original series earned acclaim, winning seven Primetime Emmy Awards for writing and directing, plus two for guest star Cloris Leachman. It garnered 26 additional nominations, with regular nods for Kaczmarek and Cranston's performances.

This revival revives the show's legacy of chaotic family dynamics through a limited series format on streaming.
