Mathias Bromé faces imminent decision on leaving Luleå

Luleå Hockey forward Mathias Bromé must decide within two weeks whether to honor his contract through 2028 or accept an overseas offer. The 31-year-old Swede, who joined Luleå after a stint in Örebro, won the SM-guld in his first season there. A contract clause allows him to depart for abroad by May 1.

Mathias Bromé, a 31-year-old Stockholm native, has thrived with Luleå Hockey since arriving from Örebro. He captured the Swedish championship in his debut season in Norrbotten and has since earned a prominent role under head coach Thomas 'Bulan' Berglund, contributing in both powerplay and penalty kill situations. Bromé expressed his appreciation for the club to NSD, stating, 'I feel great here in Luleå and got a new spark when I moved up here. I have gotten a big role and we won the gold last year.'
