Megan Park to co-showrun YA drama for Prime Video

Megan Park, director of My Old Ass, has secured a series order for Sterling Point, a young adult drama on Prime Video. She will direct, executive produce, and co-showrun the project alongside Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The involvement of LuckyChap Entertainment adds further production weight to the endeavor.

Megan Park, who gained recognition for her acting role as Grace Bowman in The Secret Life of the American Teenager, has transitioned into directing with notable success. Her feature debut came in 2021 with The Fallout, which explored a high school student's response to a school shooting and featured Jenna Ortega and Maddie Ziegler. This was followed by the 2024 Sundance hit My Old Ass, where Maisy Stella portrayed a teenager encountering her future self, played by Aubrey Plaza, amid a hallucinogenic experience.

Now, Park is venturing back into television production with Sterling Point, a yet-to-be-detailed young adult series destined for Prime Video. She joins forces with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the duo behind influential teen-oriented shows such as Gossip Girl, The O.C., Runaways, Hart of Dixie, The Carrie Diaries, Looking for Alaska, and the Dynasty revival. Their most recent collaboration, City on Fire, debuted on Apple TV+ in 2023. Operating under their Fake Empire production company, Schwartz and Savage will co-showrun and executive produce alongside Park.

LuckyChap Entertainment, responsible for My Old Ass, is also executive producing. While plot specifics remain confidential, the creative team's history suggests themes of adolescent challenges, romantic entanglements, and a strong musical element. This partnership positions Sterling Point as a potential successor in the lineage of thoughtful teen narratives.
