Milan Lucic has ended his professional hockey career at age 36. The former Boston Bruins forward announced his retirement on Sunday after 17 NHL seasons.
Lucic played 1,177 regular-season games in the NHL, recording 233 goals and 353 assists for 586 points. He added 77 playoff points in 136 games and was a key contributor to Boston's 2011 Stanley Cup championship. The forward also suited up for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames. His NHL career concluded early in the 2023/24 season. A brief comeback effort with the St. Louis Blues ended due to injury during training camp. Lucic appeared in five American Hockey League games with the Springfield Thunderbirds before finishing the season in Britain's Fife Flyers, where he posted 12 points in 26 games. The NHL Players' Association confirmed the retirement.
