The third annual Spring Breakout features hundreds of top prospects from all 30 MLB teams in games Thursday through Sunday across the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues. Rosters include 54 players from MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects list and 14 organizational No. 1 prospects. Highlights feature matchups like Pirates' Konnor Griffin against Tigers' Max Clark.
The Spring Breakout showcases elite minor league talent with rosters boasting more than 500 players from organizational Top 30 lists. Four of the top five MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects participate: Pirates shortstop Konnor Griffin (No. 1), Brewers infielder Jesús Made (No. 3), Athletics shortstop Leo De Vries (No. 4) and Cardinals infielder JJ Wetherholt (No. 5). Griffin faces No. 10 Max Clark on Friday, while Made and De Vries meet Sunday when Milwaukee visits Oakland. Wetherholt leads St. Louis against Nationals' Eli Willits (MLB No. 13) on Thursday. Seattle fields the most Top 100 prospects with six, including Colt Emerson (No. 9), and all top 10 organizational prospects. The Mariners, Dodgers and Athletics each send at least 20 Top 30 prospects. Players represent 18 countries, including Colombia, Curaçao, Japan and Spain. All 16 games stream live blackout-free on MLB.com, MLB.TV and the MLB app, with seven live on MLB Network. Hall of Famers serve as honorary coaches, including Alan Trammell for Detroit, Jeff Bagwell for Houston, Fred McGriff for Atlanta and Vladimir Guerrero for the Angels. Trammell has won his first two years managing Tigers prospects. Brewers and Phillies play twice due to league splits. Next year, Spring Breakout expands to a tournament format.
