Modo Hockey announced on its website Thursday that it is making a fresh start after finishing fourth in Hockeyallsvenskan. The season was marked by ups and downs, but the club plans to stay in the league longer than originally anticipated for just one year. Seven players have been released and must seek new teams: defensemen Theodor Johnsson, Jakob Norén, David Rundblad and Oliwer Svensson Bergfors, along with forwards Matt Anderson, Alex Swetlikoff and Kyle Topping. Assistant coach Thomas Rhodin is also leaving, stating he is actively looking for a new coaching position and has prospects in the works. Currently, Modo holds contracts for next season with goaltenders Ebbe Lundberg and Adam Werner, four defensemen and seven forwards. The status of the team's points leader, Tyler Kelleher, remains uncertain as he is without a contract.
