Mãe e avó morrem ao resgatar menino de cinco anos em represa de Palencia

Duas mulheres, de 32 e 52 anos, morreram no domingo ao tentar salvar um menino de cinco anos que caiu na água na represa de Baños de Cerrato, em Venta de Baños (Palencia). A criança foi resgatada por pescadores e passa bem.

Os eventos ocorreram por volta das 18h30, quando o serviço de emergência 112 recebeu um chamado informando que o menino estava se afogando no rio Pisuerga. As duas mulheres, mãe e avó da criança e moradoras da cidade de Palencia, pularam na água para resgatá-lo, mas morreram durante a tentativa.

O subdelegado do governo em Palencia, Eduardo Santiago, confirmou que o menino foi encontrado por pescadores próximo a um tronco de árvore e levado consciente ao Hospital Río Carrión de Palencia. O tio da criança também foi levado à mesma unidade de saúde em estado de choque.

A Guardia Civil está investigando as circunstâncias do incidente. Santiago descreveu o evento como uma tragédia que abalou a província e expressou condolências à família.
