A mudik family from Bekasi was left confused after being dropped off by a bus at the unsafe edge of Semarang-Solo Toll KM 457. Polres Semarang patrol officers found them and took them to Polsek Tengaran, where Sulaiman reunited with his brother separated for 13 years.
Sulaiman (37), his wife, and two children were mudik from Bekasi to Kruwen, Semarang Regency, on Monday, March 16, 2026, to meet Sulaiman's brother separated for 13 years. Around 08:30 WIB, they alighted from the bus at Semarang–Solo Toll KM 457, thinking it was near their destination. Instead, they stood at the unsafe toll road edge amid busy mudik traffic to Solo. The family waited for the brother to pick them up by motorbike, but the exact spot was unknown. After 30 minutes, a Polres Semarang patrol led by Kompol Joko Winarno and AKP Ari Parwanto spotted their confusion. > “During patrol, we saw a family looking confused at the toll road edge. After asking, they were mudik travellers heading to Sruwen but dropped off wrongly,” said Kompol Joko. Police contacted the brother and took the family to safer Polsek Tengaran. There, Sulaiman reunited with his brother thanks to the officers' help. Kompol Joko urged mudik travellers to be more careful with drop-off points.
