MXZI turns phonk into mainstream success

London-born producer and artist MXZI has become a leading figure in the phonk genre. He has achieved more than 1.7 billion streams and over 16 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

MXZI began his music journey as a teenager by freestyling and beatboxing before teaching himself production in FL Studio. At age 18 he left school to pursue music full time with support from his uncle and mentor DKAYY. This guidance helped him develop the Ladrão Style of phonk along with early collaborations including work with ATLXS.
