National election board completes works for inclusive poll

Chairperson Melatwork Hailu of Ethiopia's National Election Board announced that many works have been completed to ensure inclusivity in the seventh general election.

The board has set up special polling stations for internally displaced persons and military camps. It has also conducted online voter registration for students at higher education institutions.

The board discussed with political parties the procedures for registered voters to cast ballots on election day at these stations. Chairperson Melatwork Hailu said necessary logistics preparations are complete for displaced persons to vote in their camps and for students to vote in their areas.

Soldiers will vote at their camps due to military security needs, the board stated. Work has been done to prevent non-students from registering during the online student voter registration process.
