North Korean women's club reaches AFC Women's Champions League final

Naegohyang Women's FC of North Korea advanced to the final of the AFC Women's Champions League after defeating a South Korean side. The team will play Tokyo Verdy Beleza of Japan on Saturday in Suwon.

Naegohyang Women's FC defeated Suwon FC Women 2-1 in the semifinal on Wednesday at Suwon Stadium. Choe Kum-ok and Kim Kyong-yong scored in the second half. The win sent the North Korean side to its first final.

The final is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the same venue against Tokyo Verdy Beleza of Japan. The champions will receive US$1 million.

Head coach Ri Yu-il said his team would try its best. Tokyo beat Naegohyang 4-0 in a group match last November.
