Ozzy Osbourne to receive posthumous BRITs lifetime achievement award

Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with a posthumous lifetime achievement award at the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester. The ceremony on February 28 will feature a closing tribute performance of his song 'No More Tears,' fronted by Robbie Williams and featuring former band members. The event marks the first time the awards are held outside London.

The 2026 BRIT Awards, taking place at Manchester's Co-op Live on February 28, will honor the late Ozzy Osbourne with a posthumous lifetime achievement award. Osbourne, who died in 2025 at age 76, will be celebrated through a show-closing all-star tribute performance curated by his widow, Sharon Osbourne. The performance features a special arrangement of 'No More Tears,' the title track from Osbourne's 1991 solo album, fronted by Robbie Williams, who was personally invited by Sharon as a long-standing fan and friend of the Osbourne family. Musicians involved include Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos, and Zakk Wylde, all former members of Osbourne's band.

Stacey Tang, chair of the 2026 BRIT Awards Committee and co-president of RCA Records at Sony Music UK, stated: "Ozzy Osbourne has been a mighty force in modern music. Possessing an unmistakable voice and unique presence, he reshaped the sound and spirit of rock, inspiring generations of artists who followed. This Lifetime Achievement Award recognises a remarkable legacy built on originality and enduring influence, that continues to connect with fans worldwide."

Osbourne's death came weeks after Black Sabbath's 'Back To The Beginning' farewell show at Villa Park in Birmingham. Sharon Osbourne recently shared that Ozzy knew his time was limited but insisted on performing, saying he wanted to 'go like a rock star.' Earlier in 2025, a Grammys tribute featured Post Malone, Duff McKagan, Slash, Chad Smith, and Andrew Watt performing Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs' from their 1970 album Paranoid. Osbourne was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Black Sabbath in 2019 and as a solo artist in 2024, and he received five Grammy awards among other honors.

The BRIT Awards ceremony, hosted by Jack Whitehall for the sixth time, will also feature performances by artists including Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, and Wolf Alice, and broadcast on ITV1 in the UK with worldwide YouTube access.
