Paramount has retitled its upcoming film and adjusted its release schedule. The project, previously called K-Pop Superstar: The Movie, is now known as K-Pop: The Debut. The new date moves the film from February 12, 2027, to February 26, 2027.
Benson Lee directs the movie from a screenplay by Elyse Hollander and Eileen Shim. The story centers on a young Korean-American woman who enters a televised contest to join a new K-pop girl group in Korea despite her family's objections. Producers include James H. Shin, Arthur Spector, Bryan Oh, Josh Davis and Scott Braun, with executive producers Martha Fernandez, John Zaozirny, Josh Bearman, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro and Andrew Lary.
