Patrick Reed shoots 69 in Masters first round

Patrick Reed carded a 3-under 69 in the first round of the 2026 Masters, placing him two shots off the lead. The former champion holed eagles on the second and eighth holes early in his round at Augusta National. Reed is transitioning back to the PGA Tour after time on LIV Golf.

Reed opened his round with an eagle putt on the second hole, followed by an even longer eagle on the eighth about 90 minutes later. He navigated challenging moments late, escaping trouble on the 17th with an 8-iron recovery over trees and a pitch to seven feet for par. On the 18th, he holed a 10-foot par putt from a greenside bunker after an up-and-down.
