Pontus Eltonius eyes SHL after strong Vimmerby season

Pontus Eltonius, who had a standout season as goaltender for Vimmerby, has set his sights on playing in SHL next year. Currently registered as Frölunda's third goaltender, he expressed confidence in his abilities during an interview. Expressen reports a verbal agreement with Nybro for the coming season.

Pontus Eltonius delivered a save percentage of 90.6% over 36 matches this season with Vimmerby, marking a successful campaign that has boosted his ambitions. He added that if SHL does not materialize immediately, he has solid options in Allsvenskan and feels no urgency, carrying strong self-confidence from his recent performances. Presently, Eltonius trains with Frölunda as their third goaltender, staying prepared for any opportunities. Expressen has previously reported that Eltonius is verbally agreed to join Nybro for the upcoming season, though his focus remains on higher-level play.
