Sweden's national team coach Graham Potter gives Isak Hien his full support after the criticism that followed the 1–5 loss to the Netherlands.

Two days after the match in Texas, Potter met Swedish journalists. He said he loves the centre-back and that Hien will play as long as he remains national team coach.

Potter noted that criticism had focused on one player even though several mistakes contributed to the goals. He called Brian Brobbey a tough opponent for any defender.

Teammates Taha Ali and Jesper Karlström have also defended Hien. They described him as a top player and one of Serie A's best centre-backs.

Sweden face Japan in their next group match at 01:00 Swedish time on Friday. Potter did not rule out changes to the starting eleven.
