Robin Hood awaits season 2 renewal on MGM+

The first season of the Robin Hood series has concluded on MGM+, leaving fans wondering about future episodes. While the cast expresses enthusiasm for more, the streaming service has yet to confirm a second season. Speculation points to a possible release in late 2026 or 2027 if approved soon.

The Robin Hood series, a 10-part historical drama, began airing on MGM+ at the start of November and recently wrapped up with its finale. This modern take on the classic outlaw tale features Jack Patten in the lead role as Robert of Locksley, also known as Rob, alongside notable actors like Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Connie Nielsen as Eleanor of Aquitaine.

As of now, MGM+ has not announced a renewal for season 2, though the platform's recent completion of the first season suggests a decision may come soon. Jack Patten shared his excitement in an interview with the Manchester Evening News, stating, "We would love to do a [season] 2. That would be awesome." He also praised the writing by Jonathan English and John Glenn, noting, "As actors we love an arc, you can't ask for much more."

Lauren McQueen, who plays Marian, indicated she would "definitely" return if the series continues. She highlighted the season's open-ended conclusion, saying, "I think the season ends quite interestingly for every single character... It could develop, but we just wanted to do the best we could for season 1." McQueen also commended the young cast's talent and the familial atmosphere on set, which she believes translates to the screen.

Should season 2 receive the green light, production timelines and actor schedules would influence the release, potentially landing new episodes in late 2026 or 2027. The expected returning ensemble includes Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, Marcus Fraser as Little John, and others such as Angus Castle-Doughty, Henry Rowley, Richard Lintern, and more. No trailer exists yet for a potential second season, and the full first season is available to stream on MGM+.
