Rögle rules out pursuit of Rodrigo Abols for SHL

Rögle has no plans to bring back Latvian center Rodrigo Abols for the upcoming SHL season. Sportchef Hampus Sjöström confirmed there have been no discussions with the player, who is currently without an NHL contract.

Rodrigo Abols left Rögle after one season to join the Philadelphia Flyers. He recorded 15 points in 66 NHL games over two seasons before becoming a free agent.

Sjöström told Helsingborgs Dagblad that a return is not a priority. He added that he receives no signals that Abols wants to play in Sweden next season.

Rögle faces potential center depth issues. Norwegian prospect Tinus Luc Koblar, recently signed by Toronto, will train with the team next week as officials assess his situation.
