Russia to halt Kazakh oil for Schwedt refinery from May 1

Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs has confirmed that Russia will no longer route Kazakh crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline to the PCK refinery in Schwedt from May 1. The supply halt threatens to disrupt energy supplies in northeast Germany.

The PCK oil refinery in Schwedt, Brandenburg, faces a potential halt in Kazakh crude oil supplies. From May 1, no oil may be routed through the Druzhba pipeline, Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs confirmed on Wednesday.

The move could have far-reaching consequences for energy supplies in northeast Germany, including possible kerosene shortages. Schwedt is a key site for crude oil processing in the country.

The ministry confirmed the information from Berlin. Deliveries of Kazakh oil via Russian territory are affected.
