Seoul expands splash parks along Han River and districts

Seoul has opened an expanded network of public pools and splash parks to provide relief from summer heat across the Han River and neighborhood districts.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government launched six swimming and splash facilities in its Han River Parks system on June 19 for a 73-day season ending August 30. Full-scale pools operate at Ttukseom and Yeouido, while shallow play areas serve younger visitors at Jamsil, Nanji, Yanghwa, and the new Gwangnaru site.

Daily hours run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with evening extensions added from July 3 at most locations. Adult admission costs 5,000 won for larger pools and 3,000 won for water play areas, with lower rates for teenagers and children.

Gwangjin District opened a free children's water park at Seoul Children's Grand Park through August 20. Seocho District renovated the Yangjaecheon Pool and added night sessions, while Songpa District introduced the Haha Hoho water park at Garden Five Plaza with events including a dog-only day.
