Six teenagers hospitalized after smuggled alcohol in Alby

Six teenagers aged around 15 have been taken to hospital after drinking smuggled alcohol at a party in Alby south of Stockholm. Police were called to the scene on Friday evening and have launched an investigation into causing bodily harm and illegal alcohol handling. One youth was transported by ambulance, while parents drove the others to medical care.

On Friday evening, October 31, 2025, police and ambulance were called to a party in Alby, Botkyrka municipality, after youths fell ill from smuggled alcohol. The alert came at 7:15 p.m. One teenager around 15 years old was taken to hospital by ambulance, and parents transported additional youths to care. In total, six people aged around 15 required medical treatment, according to police.

"The one taken by ambulance is in their mid-teens," police spokesperson Nadya Norton told Aftonbladet. "As I understand it, they were at the same party," she added to Expressen. The condition of those affected remains unclear, and it is too early to determine the type of alcohol involved.

Police have initiated a preliminary investigation into causing bodily harm, illegal sale, and illegal possession of alcohol. Norton stresses that it is unclear if Friday's incident connects to previous events in the area.

One to two weeks earlier, similar cases occurred in the Stockholm area. Then, several youths were hospitalized after drinking so-called rotgut, possibly sold via social media or a 'vodka car.' Five people were arrested in connection, and the alcohol contained isopropanol, which can cause severe symptoms like nausea, unconsciousness, and in worst cases death. Twelve youths were affected.

Police urge parents to talk to their children about alcohol and parties to prevent such incidents.
