SK hynix launches HBM chip-shaped snack with 7-Eleven

SK hynix, a leading high bandwidth memory chipmaker, has launched an HBM chip-shaped snack in collaboration with convenience store chain 7-Eleven. The Honey Banana Mat HBM Chips are now available at 7-Eleven stores nationwide. The initiative aims to make semiconductors feel more familiar to consumers through fun everyday experiences.

SK hynix, a leading high bandwidth memory (HBM) chipmaker, announced on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, a unique marketing project reflecting its semiconductor expertise. The snack, named Honey Banana Mat HBM Chips—where 'Mat' is the Korean word for 'flavor'—consists of square corn chips designed to resemble semiconductor chips, coated in honey- and banana-flavored chocolate.

The product is now available at 7-Eleven stores nationwide. The company also plans to release HBM-themed character figures next month, featuring humanoids powered by HBM chips. SK hynix stated that the project aims to help consumers feel more familiar and connected with semiconductors.

"The goal of this project is for consumers to naturally associate semiconductors and our company with the joyful experience of eating snacks," the company said. "We will continue to pursue brand innovation by linking semiconductor technology, often viewed as specialized and complex, to fun, everyday experiences."

This collaboration represents SK hynix's effort to popularize the semiconductor industry through creative ties between technology and consumer life.
