Starz cancels Spartacus spin-off after one season

Starz has canceled its Spartacus spin-off series House of Ashur after a single season. The network confirmed the decision, with Lionsgate Television now shopping the show to other outlets.

The series followed an alternate timeline in which the character Ashur survived events from the original Spartacus show and established his own gladiator school. It explored Roman politics and betrayal alongside the arena action. The show debuted on Starz in December and concluded its 10-episode run in February.
