Taylor Polidore Williams breaks down Beauty in Black season 2 finale

Taylor Polidore Williams discussed the twists in the season 2 finale of Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black, where Horace returns to orchestrate the Bellarie family's downfall. In an interview with TVLine, the actress shared predictions for prison life in the upcoming final season and reflected on Kimmie's alliance with Mallory.

The second season of Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black, which has held a spot in Netflix's Top 10 since its return last week, concluded with a dramatic showdown. Horace reemerged, having conspired with Kimmie and Mallory to betray the rest of the Bellarie family. As feds arrived, Horace declared, 'This is chess, and you're still playing checkers... Checkmate, motherf***er. Welcome to prison.' Roy, Jules, Charlies, Olivia, and Norman faced arrest, while Horace, Kimmie, Mallory, and Varney walked away from the boardroom unscathed. Taylor Polidore Williams, who plays Kimmie, described the finale as 'satisfying.' She anticipates challenges for the imprisoned characters in the third and final season. 'Roy is going to have the hardest time behind bars,' Williams told TVLine. 'He's so explosive, he's such a hothead. And, honestly, he has a little bit of a drug dependency issue.' In contrast, she expects Olivia to thrive: 'She's going to run the prison... she's going to start a new empire in there.' A key twist revealed Kimmie and Mallory forming an unlikely alliance, which Williams had anticipated. 'I felt like they would either have to become the fiercest enemies or they would have to come together,' she said. 'I love women coming together, but I don't know if we can trust that relationship.' This partnership enabled a memorable scene where Jules, Mallory, and Rain confronted Roy with a beatdown in his office, which Williams called one of the season's most satisfying moments. Season 2 also delved into Kimmie's traumatic past as a foster kid who endured assaults and other hardships. Williams welcomed the details: 'I did not know those specific things, but I knew that she had been through a lot of trauma... It was nice to learn a little bit more about that girl.'
