The Kelly Clarkson show to end after seven seasons

The Kelly Clarkson Show will conclude after its seventh season this fall, with host Kelly Clarkson stepping away to focus on her family. The program, a daytime TV staple since 2019, has earned over 20 Daytime Emmy Awards during its run. Production continues through the end of season 7, airing until fall 2026.

The Kelly Clarkson Show, which launched in 2019 in Los Angeles and relocated to New York City in 2023, is set to wrap up after seven successful seasons. Clarkson, the inaugural winner of American Idol in 2002, announced the decision in a statement shared with staff and crew on Monday. The news comes amid months of rumors about her potential departure from daytime television, including speculation that Hoda Kotb might replace her—a rumor Kotb denied during a May 2025 appearance on Today.

In her full statement, Clarkson expressed gratitude for the experience: "I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at 'The Kelly Clarkson Show,' both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons." She explained her reasons personally: "Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting 'The Kelly Clarkson Show.' Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives."

The show has been a hit, winning more than 20 Daytime Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Talk Show, Entertainment, and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for Clarkson. Its popular "Kellyoke" segment, where Clarkson performs songs like Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever" in 2024, contributed to its appeal. While Clarkson plans to continue making music, performing occasionally, and possibly appearing on The Voice, the show's end leaves fewer daytime talk options in syndication, such as The Drew Barrymore Show, The Jennifer Hudson Show, Karamo, Sherri, and Tamron Hall.

Special guest hosts will be announced to help finish the season, keeping the program on air through fall 2026.
