The Wallflowers announce Bringing Down the Horse anniversary tour

The Wallflowers will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1996 album Bringing Down the Horse with a North American and European tour. The shows will feature full performances of the album alongside Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Long After Dark.

The Wallflowers are marking the 30th anniversary of their sophomore LP, Bringing Down the Horse, released in 1996, through an extensive tour across North America and Europe. Each performance will include the album played in full, paired with a complete rendition of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Long After Dark, one of the band’s favorite records from that era. Singer Jakob Dylan explained in a statement: “Coming back after such a long time, we wanted to do something special for the 30th anniversary of Bringing Down the Horse. We decided to play what seems to be our fans’ favorite Wallflowers album, and for us, we wanted to play one of our favorite Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers records, Long After Dark.” Bringing Down the Horse achieved significant commercial success, selling more than four million copies and reaching No. 4 on the Billboard 200. It featured breakout singles “6th Avenue Heartache” and “One Headlight.” The band’s most recent release was Exit Wounds in 2021. The tour kicks off on April 17 in Portland, Oregon, at Revolution Hall, with stops including Vancouver, Napa, Dallas, Chicago, and Toronto, before heading to Europe in November for dates in Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and London.
