Theft reported at Senate compound in Pasay City

A flat-screen television, printers, tables, and office supplies were stolen from a CongressTV tent inside the Senate compound on July 29, 2026.

Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Alfred Corpus announced the theft on July 29. The items belonged to the House of Representatives’ CongressTV channel and were stored in a tent at the Senate parking lot. CongressTV had set up the tent to cover the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

The incident occurred in the early hours of July 29 during heavy rain. Corpus noted that CCTV cameras in the area were obstructed by the tent, making it difficult to identify how the suspects entered.

Pasay City Police are investigating the case and have identified persons of interest. Corpus said officials are considering additional security measures, including more personnel and CCTV cameras.
