Toy Story 5 arrived in cinemas worldwide on June 19, 2026, featuring a new original song by Taylor Swift on its soundtrack.
The animated film, directed by Andrew Stanton, centers on Jessie as she leads the group of toys dealing with a new tablet named Lilypad that captures Bonnie's attention. Randy Newman returned to compose the score, maintaining continuity with the previous entries in the series.
Taylor Swift wrote, recorded and produced her track "I Knew It, I Knew You" with Jack Antonoff during an eight-hour session on June 18. She described the day as hectic in a behind-the-scenes video posted that evening, noting she visited a screening of the film at 11 a.m. and completed the song by early evening.
The song was released on June 12 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It joins a tracklist that also includes titles such as "Buzz's," "Tire Swing Hill" and "Operation Jessie."
New voice cast members include Greta Lee as Lilypad and Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, while Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and other returning actors reprise their roles.
