Twenty-five injured after minibus overturns on Cairo-Sokhna road

Egypt's Health Ministry announced that 25 people were injured on Monday when a minibus belonging to the Ministry of Youth and Sports overturned at kilometer 40 on the Cairo-Ain Sokhna Road, near the New Administrative Capital. Health Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the accident occurred at 9:03 a.m., prompting the dispatch of eight ambulances. The injured were transferred to the New Administrative Capital Health Insurance Hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred at 9:03 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at kilometer 40 on the Cairo-Ain Sokhna Road, near the New Administrative Capital. According to the Health Ministry, the minibus belonging to the Ministry of Youth and Sports overturned, resulting in 25 injuries. Eight ambulances were dispatched, with the first arriving at the scene at 9:12 a.m., and the injured were transferred to the New Administrative Capital Health Insurance Hospital.

Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar ordered heightened hospital readiness, the mobilization of additional medical staff and supplies, and continuous monitoring of all patients until their conditions stabilize. Injuries included rib and vertebral fractures, shoulder dislocations, contusions, abrasions, and concussions, with some patients experiencing temporary loss of consciousness. Critical cases are under intensive observation by specialists in emergency medicine, orthopedics, surgery, and neurology.

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi expressed gratitude to emergency responders and medical teams for their swift and coordinated response, noting their efficiency in handling the incident. The ministry's statement did not specify the cause of the accident, and no fatalities have been reported.
