Two people, a woman and a man both in their 40s, were taken to hospital after a head-on collision between two cars on Route 70 near Oxberg on Thursday morning. The road was fully closed during the rescue operation. The injured are reported to have minor injuries.
A head-on collision occurred on Route 70 between Mora and Älvdalen, near Oxberg between Blyberg and Garberg in Älvdalen municipality, shortly before 9am on Thursday morning. The alert to SOS Alarm came at 08:39, according to SVT Nyheter. Rescue leader Louise Söderberg described the accident as serious: 'It is a serious accident with a head-on collision,' she told Mora tidning, as reported by Dala-Demokraten and SVT Nyheter. An ambulance helicopter, three ambulances, seven rescue service units, and police were dispatched to the scene. The two involved, a woman and a man both in their 40s, were taken to hospital by helicopter and ambulance. According to Region Dalarna, they sustained minor injuries. Route 70 was closed between Garberg and Oxbergsbron during the rescue operation, with traffic diverted.
