Ubisoft CEO shares tribute to brother after fatal plane crash

Yves Guillemot, chief executive of Ubisoft, issued a public statement honoring his brother Claude Guillemot, a co-founder of the company who died in a plane crash earlier this month.

The statement appeared on LinkedIn on June 29. Yves Guillemot thanked fans, employees and community members for messages of support following the loss.

Claude Guillemot, aged 69, died ten days earlier as one of two victims in the crash. He helped establish Ubisoft in 1986 alongside his brothers Yves, Michel, Christian and Gérard. He served on the board of directors and as president of Guillemot Corporation.

Yves Guillemot described his brother as someone who helped shape the company through entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity and optimism. He noted Claude's belief in innovation and his ability to connect with people, which influenced Ubisoft's culture of trust, curiosity and respect.
