USGA launches pilot phase of rules AI tool

The United States Golf Association has introduced Rules AI, a new tool designed to provide precise answers to golfers' rules questions. The pilot phase is now underway in the GHIN app.

The USGA announced the launch on Wednesday following a partnership with Deloitte that began in April 2023. The tool draws from the Rules of Golf, past decisions and more than 20,000 annual queries handled by the organization. It is currently available in beta to select member clubs with plans to reach 80,000 to 90,000 New York metropolitan area members later this month. Full access for all GHIN members is set for spring of next year.
