Will White announces debut solo album

Will White, known for his work with 86TVs and The Maccabees, has revealed details of his first solo album. Titled It’s Easy To Let The Thoughts Gain Ground, the record was largely self-written and recorded in his Peckham studio. He is previewing it with the single ‘Silk Of Indian’.

Will White, a collaborator with 86TVs and The Maccabees, has announced his debut solo album, It’s Easy To Let The Thoughts Gain Ground. The album was primarily self-written and recorded at his studio in Peckham, London, reflecting what White describes as a “lone-wolf perspective”—a viewpoint he says is not intentional but natural for him.

White explains the album's themes, noting, “Grief is definitely a returning theme and always has been for me, I guess that’s unsurprising for someone who lost a parent at a young age.” He adds that the title comes from the title track: “It’s the tagline to the title-track from the album. I couldn’t shake it, that’s what the album wants to be called.”

He emphasizes the solitary process: “Especially as I made a lot of the record alone and was just in there fighting it out for a while, so it’s fitting. It’s not coming from a defeated place though, this album comes from feeling things deeply and letting things come to the surface.”

The tracklist includes: Neanderthals, When To Stop, Out Of Nowhere, It’s Easy To Let The Thoughts Gain Ground, 6:30AM, Silk Of Indian, Couldn’t Love You More, One Last Time, and Grief.

White has a live show scheduled for the 18th of this month at St Pancras Old Church in London, where he will support Tenderness.
