On Sunday, November 16, around 10:25 a.m., a woman in her 40s was stabbed with a knife by a man outside a live music venue in the basement of a commercial building in Tokyo's Akasaka district, Minato Ward. The victim sustained serious injuries to her left side of the abdomen and other areas, including her hand, and was conscious when transported to a hospital. Police believe she was a singer scheduled to perform at the venue and was waiting alone for it to open when suddenly attacked.

The woman told police, “I don’t know him,” indicating no prior acquaintance with the suspect. The man, described as wearing black work clothes and a black cap, fled the scene carrying the knife. The incident occurred in a busy commercial area lined with restaurants and office buildings, about 150 meters southwest of Tokyo Metro's Akasaka-mitsuke Station. Akasaka is one of Tokyo's well-known entertainment and business districts.

Due to the attack, an afternoon performance from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and an evening show from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. were canceled. Authorities at Akasaka Police Station are investigating the case as attempted murder and searching for the suspect.
