Workshop discusses tech solutions for Rajasthan Anganwadi centres

A workshop organised by the Rajasthan government explored technology-driven approaches to upgrade Anganwadi infrastructure using corporate social responsibility funds. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari emphasised prefabricated structures for rapid modernisation of centres serving maternal and child health.

The Women and Child Development Department hosted the event on Friday under Mission Saksham Anganwadi Evum Poshan 2.0. Participants reviewed light gauge steel frame prefabricated structures and container-based designs that can be completed in 15 to 21 days. Officials also presented details of the Pankhudi portal launched on January 8 this year to channel CSR contributions for nutrition, health and education.

Vasudev Malawat, Director of Integrated Child Development Services, reported that 3,284 of the state's 63,000 Anganwadi centres operate in dilapidated buildings and 11,488 function in rented or temporary premises. He said solar-powered and earthquake-resistant Smart Anganwadi centres would be built using the new technology.

Ms Kumari stated that CSR funds could play a crucial role in modernisation. She added that tech-driven solutions can facilitate the desired transformation of the infrastructure of dilapidated Anganwadi centres in a short span of time, enabling them to provide grassroots-level services.
