Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar announced the hilal for 1 Syawal 1447 H was not sighted at 117 observation points from Papua to Aceh. The decision followed Sidang Isbat using hisab and rukyat not meeting MABIMS criteria. Idul Fitri or Lebaran falls on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) will conduct hilal sighting for the start of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah on February 17, 2026, in 96 locations across Indonesia. The isbat session will be held on the same day in Jakarta to determine the official date. The final decision will be announced via press conference.
