Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández will headline a free concert at Glorieta de la Minerva in Guadalajara on Thursday as part of the FIFA 2026 World Cup Fan Fest.
The regional Mexican music star returns to the iconic landmark in his hometown for the first time in nearly two decades. Fernández announced the event, which he calls “The Biggest Serenade in the World,” through a video on his social media accounts on Tuesday.
Special guests include his children Alex and Camila Fernández along with Julión Álvarez and Alfredo Olivas. The performance comes 15 days after Fernández sang the Mexican national anthem at the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City.
“My heart is racing,” Fernández told the press on Tuesday. “I’m very nervous because 19 years ago I had the chance to perform at this iconic place, La Minerva.”
The concert follows a Maná show at the same location last week that drew around 170,000 people, also tied to World Cup Fan Fest activities.
