Blizzard is investigating claims that one of its game masters used an unauthorized ability to assist players during a Mythic dungeon run in World of Warcraft.
The incident came to light through Warcraft Logs data for the Nexus Point Xenas dungeon on Mythic difficulty with a +23 keystone. Trash mobs were cleared at 27 minutes and 57 seconds, after which the final boss Lothraxion fell to a "Death Touch" ability. A character named Daijosai then cast "Area Death (TEST)," an ability whose tooltip reads "Kills all enemies in a 30 yard radius. Cheater."
Two streamers were in the group. Evoker Schizofien is known as Yara, and Demon Hunter Jabuka is known as Yiesus. Yiesus later told Yumytv that he asked a GM friend to finish off a mob with 20 million health because the group was about to fail the key. He said he meant no harm and added that the GM "was just like, doing me a solid."
Community manager Kaivax stated that developers are taking action. Players have raised concerns about fairness on Mythic+ leaderboards and whether similar incidents have occurred before.
