Borneo FC has appointed Portuguese coach Mauro Jeronimo as head coach for the 2026/2027 season, replacing Fabio Lefundes.
The official announcement was made through the Samarinda-based club's social media channels. Management selected Jeronimo due to his experience coaching in Asia and Southeast Asia.
Jeronimo was born on São Miguel island, Portugal, on 27 September 1987. He holds an AFC Pro License and typically deploys a 4-1-4-1 formation. He will be supported by a staff that includes Sultan Samma, Eudald Rosell, Pedro Javier, Joao Gabriel, Claudio Da Costa, Chu Viet Hoang and Rosyid Aji.
Borneo FC will compete in the BRI Super League, AFC Challenge League, ASEAN Champions Cup and Piala Liga. The club stated that a new journey has begun with the goal of achieving higher honours.
