BRB ends negotiations with Quadra on Master assets

BRB announced it ended talks with Quadra Capital to sell Banco Master assets. The April deal involved transferring R$ 15 billion.

Banco de Brasília (BRB) announced on Friday (17) the end of negotiations with asset manager Quadra Capital. The talks involved transferring Banco Master assets valued at R$ 15 billion to a Quadra fund.

The April agreement included an upfront payment between R$ 3 billion and R$ 4 billion that was not transferred. Divergences over economic and financial parameters led to the termination, according to a BRB statement.

Following the end, BRB chose to directly manage and reposition these assets in the market. The institution stated it maintains a solid liquidity position and operational capacity.

The bank has faced a crisis since acquiring Master portfolios and must meet a deadline with the Central Bank by August 5.
