BTS to launch first world tour in four years in April

K-pop superstar BTS announced on January 14 its first world tour in four years, starting in April. The tour will span 34 cities with 79 shows across North and South America, Europe, and Asia. The group plans to release its fifth studio album on March 20 ahead of the tour.

K-pop superstar BTS will embark on a new world tour in April, its first in four years, the group's agency BigHit Music announced on January 14 as fans anticipate the comeback.

The tour kicks off with three concerts on April 9, 11, and 12 at Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang, northwest of Seoul, followed by two shows in Busan on June 12-13, coinciding with the group's debut anniversary.

The septet will then head to the United States for 28 shows in 12 cities, starting in Tampa on April 25-26. Stops in El Paso and Foxborough mark the first time a K-pop act performs there. At Stanford Stadium, BTS will be the second artist after Coldplay to hold a solo concert.

In June and July, the group will perform 10 shows across five European cities, including London, Paris, Madrid, and Brussels, before heading to Latin America. Dates in Japan and the Middle East are to be announced later. The tour totals 79 shows in 34 cities across North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

"This marks the largest number of performances by a K-pop artist in a single tour," the agency said. Performances will use a 360-degree platform for an immersive audience experience.

BTS last toured globally in 2022, wrapping up "Permission to Dance on Stage" in Las Vegas. Before the tour, the group will release its fifth full-length album on March 20, featuring 14 tracks.
