Charles Leclerc wins British Grand Prix at Silverstone

Charles Leclerc took his first victory of the Formula 1 season in the British Grand Prix on Sunday. The Ferrari driver led from the start and benefited from a safety car to finish ahead of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.

Juan Pablo Montoya said the result could make the drivers' championship more competitive if Leclerc shows the same consistency as his teammate Hamilton.

Leclerc started strongly at Silverstone and moved into the lead immediately. He extended his advantage after Max Verstappen spun into the gravel, triggering a safety car period. The race ended under safety car conditions, with Leclerc crossing the line first.

Montoya noted that Ferrari appears to have resolved earlier issues with the car. He added that regular strong finishes from Leclerc would make the title fight "really exciting."

Leclerc now holds fourth place in the standings on 108 points. Kimi Antonelli leads with 179 points, followed by Russell on 154 and Hamilton on 147.
