George Russell claimed pole position for Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, with Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli alongside him on the front row.
The two Mercedes cars topped qualifying at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit in Montreal. Russell beat Antonelli, ending the young Italian driver's run of three straight poles.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in the McLarens start from the second row. Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari and Max Verstappen in a Red Bull line up fifth and sixth.
Russell also won the sprint race earlier in the day. "It is always a challenge to come back to qualifying after the sprint race," he said.
