Tuya stated, “Security assessments are ongoing, preparedness is continuous, and we are investing in modernisation and intelligence systems.” She added that the Kenya Defence Forces are well-equipped, with active intelligence and strong regional and global partnerships. However, she noted, “There are limits to what can be disclosed publicly.” MPs expressed concerns over the ministry's involvement in non-military projects like schools, hospitals, and stadiums. The defence ministry's budget has increased by Ksh24.13 billion due to operational demands and regional security pressures.
