Egypt’s economic path reassuring and balanced, finance minister says

Kouchouk said the government has taken proactive measures to ensure a positive and flexible response to current and potential challenges. He noted the finance ministry's work to improve the tax system for voluntary compliance and attracting new taxpayers. Describing the European Union as a key partner, he anticipated a growing economic partnership with significant opportunities for mutual trade and European company growth.

Deputy Finance Minister for Fiscal Policies Yasser Sobhi said recent reforms have positioned Egypt to face global economic shocks from a strengthened financial stance, with performance over the first nine months of the fiscal year reflecting the ability to meet annual targets. He emphasized maintaining financial stability as the foundational pillar for expanding economic activities and achieving comprehensive, sustainable growth, prioritizing broadening economic, tax, and production bases and increasing exports.

Annika Eriksgaard, Deputy Financial and Economic Official at the European Commission, said the EU appreciates Egypt's implemented reforms, the noticeable improvement in its financial and economic performance, and measures to manage external crises. She described Egypt as a key partner, expressed satisfaction with policy developments, affirmed continued support, and noted aims to boost European economic competitiveness through innovation, productivity, and addressing energy challenges.
